Hello friends! Today’s post is coming to you because this was a huge pain point in my life. It truly drives me bonkers when little tiny things don’t truly have a home or at least a small container to coral items. The reason this came about was because of our headphone situation. It seemed, we had so many pairs of headphones but could never find a pair when necessary. I decided we needed a system! (Man I love a good system!) I did a quick search on Amazon, and found THIS SET of 24 small containers for around $14. Originally, I only planned on getting a few small snap containers, but once I saw the set came with 24, my wheels started turning and I instantly thought of several different ways to use these cute little bins. As I started wandering around the house I easily came up with around 24 ways to use these little guys. Of course, they also needed to be labeled! As you will notice, some I labeled with the actual item, and some I labeled with the location. I just labeled in a way that made sense for our household and how my brain works.
The headphones, I labeled with the location. I like to have a few hair ties and a chap stick in the basement so that also, I labeled basement. Everything else is labeled with the actual item. EXTRA TIP: I like to have a designated spot in a drawer, or just somewhere in the house for spare and broken toy parts. How many times have you came across a piece from a toy and you have no idea if it was broken, or what toy it came from. Instead of just setting it on a counter, or in a random spot, it makes so much sense to have a designated space for all those little pieces to be together.
This little project took about an hour in total time, and only cost around $14. This was definitely worth it and will pay off for years to come! If you come up with any additional ideas, please share in the comments below!
XOXO,
Krisa
