Hello friends! I understand that kitchen drawers are a constant battle for a lot of people. The utensil collection constantly seems like it is growing by the day. I will be the first one to admit that I have a lot of kitchen utensils that I just can’t seem to part with. When we started on this little project I did go through my utensils and pare down a little bit on the doubled up specialty items. I would just hate to get rid of something only to need it a year down the road. I have come up with a simple solution to corral all the utensils and kitchen gadgets I do have while using the full size and potential of the drawer. Again, I owe most of the credit for this project to my wonderful handy hubby. How much did this cost you ask? Big ole Goose Egg! That’s right once again we used only some scrap pieces of wood Sky cut to the size of my choice. However, if there isn’t a stack of wood at your disposal those plastic drawer dividers are pretty inexpensive. Saving your sanity will be worth it I promise!
Quick little tip: I got this awesome colorful knife set for Christmas last year but could never remember which knives I should use for which things so I decided just to make little labels on the knife covers to help me remember. So far this has been a great decision!
This drawer is by far my favorite! I get such a happy giddy feeling every time I open this drawer, I just love it! This was the first one we did and after that Sky thought he had created a monster because every single drawer needed to be organized.
Of course, our beautiful spice drawer I did in a recent post.
Last but not least, this drawer is right beside the sliding door that goes out to the grill so I thought it was fitting to put the grill utensils in here. Also, we keep the aluminum grilling pans here. Skylar gets 100% of the credit for this clever koozie storage, he loves to collect koozies and is always adding to his collection whenever possible. I have battled constantly with these little buggers and have never been able to come up with a good storage solution. Until now! He just cut open a rubber band and tacked it down with a couple thumb tacks on either end and, Presto! Some genius koozie storage was born!
